The Arziki Coffee Café is not just a place to enjoy coffee; it is a hub for fostering community, collaboration, and creativity. Strategically located at the University of Nairobi, the café offers a unique space where students, faculty, and the public can experience premium Kenyan coffee while interacting in an inspiring, academic setting. Kenya is known worldwide for its high-quality coffee, yet many Kenyans don’t get the chance to enjoy these locally produced beans. Through the Arziki Coffee Café, UNES aims to change this by sourcing coffee directly from Kenyan farmers, allowing customers to savor fresh, locally roasted beans with every cup. The café’s launch theme – “Come and celebrate with us the Launch of Locally Produced Coffee in Town” – resonates deeply with UNES’s mission to bridge the gap between farm and table, boosting the local economy and providing students with an authentic Kenyan coffee experience.
The atmosphere at the launch was lively and full of excitement, as attendees sampled a variety of coffee drinks brewed from locally sourced beans. Guests were treated to unique coffee flavors and aromas that exemplified Kenya’s specialty coffee, from smooth espressos to rich cappuccinos. Live music filled the air, adding a celebratory vibe that highlighted the café’s promise of offering a cozy yet vibrant environment.
The Arziki Coffee Café at Willoughby Hall is poised to be more than just a coffee shop; it’s set to become a cultural landmark within the University of Nairobi and beyond. UNES envisions the café as a space where students, faculty, and visitors can engage in discussions, brainstorming sessions, and workshops while supporting a sustainable cause. By choosing local, UNES hopes to inspire students and the community to make conscious, impactful choices in their daily lives.
The launch of Arziki Coffee Café marks an exciting new chapter for UNES and the University of Nairobi, reinforcing a commitment to community and sustainability. As the doors to Arziki Coffee Café open, Kenyans have a new spot to celebrate their rich coffee heritage, experience a taste of Kenya’s finest brews, and partake in a local movement that celebrates our farmers and our culture.
Whether you’re a coffee enthusiast or simply looking for a relaxing spot on campus, the Arziki Coffee Café awaits with open arms and an invitation to “come and celebrate the launch of locally produced coffee in town.”
