UNES Co-Hosts Inaugural International Postpartum Hemorrhage (PPH) Conference to Advance Maternal Health

University of Nairobi Enterprises and Services Ltd (UNES), in partnership with the PPH Foundation and in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, Kenya, the Kenya Obstetrical and Gynecological Society (KOGS), and the Midwives Association of Kenya, successfully hosted the inaugural International Postpartum Hemorrhage (PPH) Conference from 22nd to 23rd July 2026 at the Confucius Institute, University of Nairobi.
The landmark two-day conference served as a global platform for knowledge exchange, collaboration, and innovation aimed at strengthening interventions to combat postpartum hemorrhage (PPH)—one of the leading causes of maternal mortality worldwide. The event attracted approximately 250 delegates representing more than 15 countries, underscoring the growing international commitment to improving maternal and neonatal health outcomes.
Participants included representatives from government agencies, universities and research institutions, development partners, healthcare professionals, civil society organizations, industry leaders, the business community, and other stakeholders committed to advancing safe motherhood.
Strengthening Global Partnerships to Save Mothers’ Lives
The conference focused on consolidating evidence-based intervention strategies and fostering multi-sectoral partnerships to reduce preventable maternal deaths across Kenya, Africa, and the world. Through keynote presentations, panel discussions, scientific sessions, and collaborative engagements, participants explored practical solutions to improve prevention, early detection, and effective management of postpartum hemorrhage.
The conference reaffirmed the importance of strong collaboration among governments, healthcare providers, researchers, development partners, and communities in addressing one of the most pressing maternal health challenges of our time.
