UNES STAFF WELLNESS DAY HELD ON FEBRUARY 22, 2019 AT UNES EXECUTIVE BOARDROOM/UNES GARDEN, KOLOBOT DRIVE, OFF STATE HOUSE ROAD

UNES conducted Staff Wellness Talk themed “Your Heath is Our Wealth”during UNES Staff Wellness Day held on Friday February 22, 2019 at UNES Grounds Kolobot Drive off State House Road. The health talk covered such crucial areas such as; Lifestyle Diseases, Sexual Gender Based Violence & HIV/ Aids, Condom Use and Disposal and Gastrointestinal Infection. During the health check, staff and other stakeholders got opportunity to be checked through various health check points covering; Dental, BMI, Optical, VCT, Blood Pressure and RBS.

This is an activity that UNES organizes annually and has proven to be pivotal to the UNES Community, University and the Stakeholders. Read more

UNES UNIVERSITY BOOKSTORE HOSTS A WARD WINNING AUTHOR PROF. NGUGI WA THIONGO DURING THE LIVE RECORDING BY BBC WORLD BOOK CLUB ON FEB 19 – 22, 2019 IN NAIROBI

Prof. Ngugi Wa Thiongo, the world best renowned writer during the live recording by the BBC World Radio at the UNES Bookstore in  Nairobi. The program will be aired live on the BBC  Website come March 3, 2019. Pro. Ngugi schemed through his book entitled “Grain of Wheat” the book carries with it the heavy weight of Kenya’s situation in the wake of Mau Mau rebellion and the struggle for independence which is more relevant today. He was greatly applauded by Prof. Mbithi who cited how authors and indeed creative writers like Ngũgĩ and others use novels as a channel for preserving and transferring information and cultures from one generation to another. Prof. Ngugi urged young writers to tell and writes African stories and connect with the outside world.

JOB DESCRIPTION

 

Reporting to the Kitchen Supervisor, the incumbent shall be tasked with the following responsibilities:

 

  1. To maintain general cleanliness of the kitchen floor and external surfaces
  2. To clean and dry kitchen cooking pots used for food production.
  3. To store the kitchen pots in the appropriate places after cleaning.
  4. Collecting and disposing of kitchen waste.
  5. Ensure cleanliness of the cloak rooms.
  6. To account all the equipment in your procession.
  7. Any other duty given by the head cook.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

  1. KCSE D+
  2. Ability to work for long hours and under pressure
  3. Good interpersonal skills
  4. Knowledge of cleaning services is preferred
  5. Experience in cleaning will be an added advantage

ECHO FOR LIFE TRAINING FOR PHYSICIANS BY UNES CONSULTANCY AT UNES EXECUTIVE BOARDROOM, ARBORETUM DRIVE, UNIVERSITY OF NAIROBI

Echo for Life Training is designed for physicians with acute interest in cardiovascular medicine, anesthesiologist, radiologist, nurses, clinical officers, sonographers and registrars in training.
It is the first transthoracic Echocardiagraphy course for clinical practice in Kenya. It is specifically designed to accommodate the evolving needs in cardiovascular medicine.
